Mega Tetris reimagines the legendary block puzzle as an arcade combat experience exclusive to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Far from being a simple clone, this title fuses the millimetric precision of classic Tetris with the intensity of a one-on-one fighting tournament, all rendered within the constraints and charm of 16-bit hardware.

🎮 Game Modes

• Tournament (1 Player): Journey through Block City facing 8 fighters with unique personalities and playstyles. Every Tetris you complete sends garbage lines to your opponent; every mistake brings you closer to defeat. Beat them all to face the final boss, Khalid, in a merciless block duel.
• Marathon (1 Player): Classic mode elevated to its maximum power. Progressive speed, scoring system with rewarded hard drops, and local high score table. Can you surpass 999,999 points?
• Local VS (2 Players): Direct battle against a friend on the same console. No AI, no excuses: just you, your rival, and the pressure to clear lines faster than them.

✨ Technical Features

• Optimized incremental rendering: Only cells that change between frames are updated, maximizing the Genesis VDP to maintain stable 60 FPS even during complex animations.
• Adaptive AI with cached evaluation: Opponents analyze the board rotation by rotation without saturating the 68K CPU, offering escalating challenges that never feel unfair.
• Authentic Genesis aesthetics: 16-color palette per plane, line-by-line scrolling for wave effects, selective priority for dynamic shadows, and sprites that respect the original console's VRAM limits.
• Chiptune soundtrack: Compositions evoking the golden age of 16-bit gaming, synchronized with gameplay via the XGM driver.
• Integrated narrative: Cinematic intro sequence, character portraits with victory/defeat dialogue, and a progression arc that gives context to every match.
